The CGSA and Bayer are pleased to announce Mr. Douglas Campbell, Accredited Golf Superintendent (AGS) from the Riverside Country Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, as the CGSA/Bayer Superintendent of the Year for 2016.

Canada's seven regional superintendent associations are eligible to nominate candidates for this annual award.
Mr. Campbell will receive the CGSA/Bayer Superintendent of the Year award at the 2017 CGSA Awards Luncheon in Victoria on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 as part of The Canadian Golf Course Management Conference.
"Doug Campbell is a terrific Golf Course Superintendent and truly one of the great people in our profession. Having the privilege to reach out and inform Doug that he is the 2016 CGSA / Bayer Superintendent of the Year was a special honour for me as Doug was my first boss and mentor in the golf industry".

"Bayer is extremely pleased to once again partner with the CGSA in recognizing excellence within the golf course superintendent community in Canada. We look forward to interacting with Doug at a number of Bayer and CGSA events over the next year".

As the CGSA/Bayer Superintendent of the Year winner, Doug will receive the following:
Doug has been a CGSA member since 1984 and holds the Association's Accredited Golf Superintendent designation. He was born and raised in Saskatoon, and began working at Riverside at only 14 years old alongside his father Don Campbell. Don was CGSA's 2004 John B. Steel recipient and a longtime member who passed away earlier this year.
After many years being a part of the club, Doug was promoted to the position of Assistant Superintendent in 1982. In 1985 Doug advanced to become the Superintendent, a position he has held for over 30 years and he carries on the dedication to excellence in golf course management that his father started.
During this period he has hosted the Canadian Men's Amateur, Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur, Canadian Women's Amateur and the Canadian Junior Men's Amateur tournaments. As well, Doug hosted the 2004 CGSA Fall Field Day.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association for over 30 years, and is the provincial representative on the Canadian Turfgrass Research Foundation (CTRF).
