  • Environmental Science, a business unit of the Crop Science division of Bayer, is proud to announce Jesse Benelli, Ph.D., is joining Bayer as the new Green Solution Specialist. Benelli will be responsible for providing technical expertise to golf course turf managers, the transition of new products from development to market, and supporting the industry as a whole through thought leadership and education. He will be based in Guelph, Ontario. 

    “We are extremely pleased to be able to add a strong technical resource that has a wealth of experience helping Golf Course Superintendents” says Brian Rosenberg, Commercial Operations Manager Bayer Environmental Science. “Through his many years of research Jesse Benelli has a vast understanding of product use and overall Turfgrass management solutions”

    “I am thrilled to join the Bayer Environmental Science team. Bayer is a globally trusted brand that has become synonymous with innovation,” says Benelli, “I am eager to get out in the field to develop solutions that meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. Connecting with industry partners in the Canadian market will be my immediate priority upon arrival.”

    As the Canadian representative for the Bayer Green Solutions team, Benelli will provide scientific support and technical information for Bayer’s golf and turf products across Canada.  In addition he will  coordinate product demonstration trials, and provide support to Bayer customers and the industry as a whole.

    Benelli joins Bayer after a year as the Director of Turfgrass Programs at the Chicago District Golf Association where he was responsible for the diagnostic support for more than 400-member clubs located within the Chicago District.  Prior to this, he was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee and a Turfgrass Pathology Research Manager at Penn State University. Benelli obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in, Turfgrass and Plant Pathology, and his Masters from the University of Tennessee in Plant Sciences. In addition Benelli has worked at various golf courses throughout Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
