The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and Bayer have announced a new Sponsorship arrangement that will provide golf course turf managers across the country with greater program access, influence in product development, new information resources, educational opportunities and recognition for the golf course management profession. Starting immediately, Bayer will provide support and funding for a variety of initiatives aimed at assisting the members of the CGSA in maintaining their occupational requirements and ensuring that the industry is cognizant of the value of these professionals to the turf management industry and the business of golf.
William McMurdo, Director of Bayer Environmental for Canada referred to today's announcement as a "huge step forward for Bayer in partnering with the CGSA to help both our businesses reach its goals in the golf sector."
"Providing the right mix of products, advice, direction and research for each CGSA member superintendent, a mix that meets the needs of that individual at their specific facility is what we are trying to achieve. Working with the CGSA provides access to talented professionals from across the country and gives Bayer assurance that we are getting the best superintendents available to the Canadian market to provide us with advice and assistance. In return, we are supporting the CGSA, their professional resource and the individual facility achieve their objectives."
Christian Pilon, MS, President, CGSA enthusiastically welcomed the Bayer / CGSA partnership announcement. The package continues Bayer support for the annual CITCTS Awards Luncheon, trade show, industry education presentations and Fall Field Day while adding additional membership and CITCTS support through a subsidy program, and support for GreenMaster magazine and golfsupers.com, and sponsorship of the Superintendent of the Year award.
"CGSA is very excited about the enhanced relationship that we will have with Bayer moving forward. Bayer has been a long-time partner of the CGSA and has made it possible for the association to recognize its high achievers at its annual Awards Luncheon and, in doing so, to help in the efforts of the CGSA to have the golf industry recognize the value of the profession to the business and to the success of individual facilities."
The sponsorship arrangement is for five years.
