  • Guelph, Ontario – During the recent Bayer Research and Innovation Field Day held at St Thomas Golf & Country Club Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience, launched and recorded the first sale of Exteris Stressgard turf fungicide globally. Exteris Stressgard is Bayer’s latest innovation in plant protection that includes a second generation SDHI in combination with a proven QoI partner, adding another proven solution to the Stressgard Formulation Technology Family (SFT).

“With Exteris Stressgard Bayer continues to raise the bar for innovation within the Canadian turfgrass industry” says Colin White, Bayer Environmental Science Canada Marketing Manager. “ The real value of Exteris Stressgard is that it offers turf managers true 21-28 days control of challenging turf diseases on their golf courses which in the end helps to free up time and resources.”

Exteris Stressgard includes the exciting new active ingredient, fluopyram, combined with the proven control of trifloxystrobin to create a dynamic foliar disease specialist with the molecular precision and agility to provide both preventative and fast curative control. This unique formulation provides broad-spectrum control of damaging foliar diseases like dollar spot, brown patch and leaf spot while adding additional benefits, such as dew mitigation and fast knockdown of damaging mycelium.

“It’s always exciting when new active ingredients become available and address the turf industry’s most difficult challenges.” Says Paul Giordano, Ph.D., Bayer Green Solutions Specialist in Canada. “The unique SDHI chemistry in Exteris Stressgard is a fantastic fit in rotational programs, and has consistently been a top performer in North American disease research trials. Much like other products such as Interface Stressgard, Exteris Stressgard offers plant health and turf quality benefits associated with Stressgard Formulation Technology, giving superintendents that added edge during tough times.”

Tim Steen, Territory Sales Manager for Bayer congratulates Doug Kennedy, Golf Course Superintendent at Seven Lakes Championship Golf and Estates on the first purchase globally of Exteris Stressgard.
